Yes, we have a range of composite trench covers that are certified to enable a 44T vehicle to drive over a maximum 1200mm span. These covers have the ratings clearly marked on them too which means you don’t have to guess the load rating like you would with some of the steel plate alternatives. Each trench shield system has its own ratings and specific methods of being assembled to achieve their maximum depth. As a rule of thumb, the lightweight shields can be triple stacked to allow a maximum depth of 3.6m, the modular shields can be configured to a maximum depth of 4.8m and the heavy-duty alloy shields can be double stacked to 4.8m deep. It all depends on the ground conditions and size of the truck. The standard duty mats are generally suitable for small to medium-size trucks on reasonably firm ground. For extra weight spreading capacity, we offer a heavy-duty mat option that work well for full size trucks or for spreading the weight on very soft ground.
